Hail the King

Thousands of people flocked at the National Shrine of the Our Lady of Antipolo (Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage) Sunday, to mark the beginning of the Holy Week. The Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion is in connection with the victorious entry of the Jesus Christ in Jerusalem wherein He would suffer, die and resurrect to save the people's souls.

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal Province, March 28, 2010 – Thousands of people flocked the National Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo City to start the Holy Week.

The Palm Sunday, also known as the Passion Sunday, marks the beginning of the week-long journey of Jesus Christ to his suffering, death and resurrection, as prophesied by the prophets of the Old Testament.

The waving of palms is a tradition patterned in the event happened in Jerusalem, as told the four (4) Canonical Gospels ((Mark 11:1-11, Matthew 21:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, and John 12:12-19).
